Job Description:

As a Senior Release DevOps Engineer, you will be passionate to solve the infrastructure, release and deployment related problems with code. You will be leading key projects in design, development, and also responsible for maintaining tools that are used by various internal teams at salesforce. You will represent release engineering team in discussions with other groups; and can independently architect and lead small and medium-sized projects.

This role is also responsible for managing existing software / tools for supporting production releases of our production infrastructure. This includes both customer facing Salesforce products as well as internal products used to run Salesforce operations globally (such as monitoring tools). The team has a bi-weekly rotation of engineers for supporting the production releases and this role will be a part of the rotation cycle.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years experience in Release/Software Engineering of Java-based, on-demand applications.

  • 4+ years experience working on Unix platforms with RHEL Preferred.

  • 4+ years hands-on experience in writing scripts in one or more languages such as Perl, Python, Go, or similar.

  • Experience with container based deployment and orchestration tools such as Docker,Kubernetes

  • Strong knowledge of Perforce or GIT

  • Demonstrated ability to support large production deployments through software: production environments, mission-critical tools administration in a zero downtime framework.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or other related field

  • Experience working across multiple TimeZones is highly essential

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with orchestration and remote execution: Saltstack and Puppet, or Ansible, Fabric or similar.

  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under deadlines.

  • Experience with building web application using JavaScript or similar

  • Experience in working with trasactionsactional databases systemes (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

  • RHCSA, RHCE strongly preferred.
