As a Security Architect, you will be partnering with various business units in architectural design reviews to ensure the solution have adequate protection to mitigate security risks.Salesforce is seeking an Architect to join its Security team. This is a technical hands-on Director-level IC role which will work closely with business partners across the company to: review security requirements, recommend architecture, and offer practical solutions.

General Requirements:

  • Interpersonal skills to work closely with business units and ensure that security practices are integrated within their technology domains.

  • Background in securing multi-tenant services, and/or architecting separation controls in cloud systems.

  • Able to provide architectural guidance from high-level design to detailed (hands-on) implementation of security controls.

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing company-wide security strategy and action plans based on security risk and potential threats.

  • You will be building the new generation of Salesforce’s security platform, looking at security policy as part of service model, modeling policy control and implementing a hardened and scalable framework for enforcing policies.

  • You will be responsible for designing, implementing and running our fleet of services that enforce the data center security posture.

  • You will unlock security innovation and value

Required Qualifications / Experiences:

  • 9+ years of Engineering security experience, including hands-on technical advisory and coding skills, and proven ability to contribute at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Demonstrated technicality across a range of security disciplines.

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into language for audiences.

  • A proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and business leaders.

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering and/or security certifications with an emphasis in Information Security or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Desired Skills / Experiences:

  • CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) or equivalent

  • Certification and/or Expert experience in a major operating system.

  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Java, C++, Python, Ruby

  • Mastery of OOO concepts and programming

  • Knowledgeable in security trends, products and tooling.

Desired Skills for Specific teams:

  • Security Engineering: team is responsible for the development of a shared security infrastructure used to improve security for our internal and external customers. The team’s future goal is to build security directly into our data center fabric while enabling it to smoothly transfer to public cloud when required. Skills needed: Java, Python, PKI, OOO, Cryptography: public key vs symmetric key encryption, and TLS.

  • Security Operations: team is responsible for the run function of the Security Org. This team includes Identity & Access Management, CSIRT, IT Operations for Infrastructure Security, Network Security, Security Monitoring, Threat Intelligence around-the-clock monitoring, triaging, and responding to unauthorized activity by coordinating resources, directing use of countermeasures, conducting forensics analysis.

  • Security Assurance team is responsible for ensuring that our products, infrastructure, vendors and acquisitions meet our security standards. This team includes Product Security, Enterprise Security, M&A Security, Offensive Security (Red Team), Vulnerability Intelligence & Assessment, and Infrastructure Assurance. Functions of these teams include Feature reviews and assessment, App Security Reviews, Infrastructure Security Reviews, Vendor Reviews, SDL and Threat Research.
