The Security Awareness team drives security education and best practices adoption within the Salesforce ecosystem, from employees to customers. We are behavior engineers charged with securing the human element of Salesforce -- from product development, to customer security awareness and security control adoption.

This is a highly visible and strategic role. You will get the opportunity to have the visibility of and contribute to a large range of strategic projects throughout the Security team, which is the fastest growing team within Salesforce. This role has leadership and growth potential, and as such, you will work with high level leadership in Security, as well as teams such as Employee Marketing, Finance, Product and Sales. We work closely with our employees, and provide them with fun and engaging best practices throughout their journey as an employee. Security is one of the first touchpoints a new employee has with Salesforce, because we believe security is everyone’s responsibility at Salesforce and that humans are a strong link in our security posture.

The Security Awareness Senior Manager is responsible for driving a culture of security within Salesforce. This includes several audiences including all employees, executives, sales and other roles. The Senior Manager will work proactively with security teams and management to identify key human-based risks and how to help address them via program initiatives. This role will require significant cross-functional collaboration with functional areas of Security, as well as other external teams such as Business Technology (IT).

  • Help define and deliver the security awareness program objectives, strategies, and tactics

  • Design, build, and run security awareness initiatives that educate and engage Salesforce employees and contractors regarding information security risks and best practices

  • Develop and roll out annual security training

  • Establish and report relevant metrics and KPIs to communicate status and demonstrate progress of program performance

  • Evidence collection for compliance-related audits

Skills required:

  • Experience developing security awareness training, programs and campaigns

  • Stellar writing and presentation skills

  • Understanding of relationship between human behavior and security

  • Stakeholder and vendor management

  • 8-10 years in security awareness or equivalent field

  • Understanding and appreciation of how & why human behavior matters in what we do

  • Team-oriented, not a solo flyer

  • Flexible and not overly tied to a particular outcome
