Salesforce’s Customer Success Group (CSG) is looking for a Senior Director, Data Solutions to lead a team focused on leveraging data to scale and enhance our overall customer experience across all segments, helping our customers achieve extraordinary value with the Salesforce platform. This person will lead a team of data experts including data scientists, data engineers and data researchers to develop tools, leverage technologies, and determine the next best action for every customer at an individualized level. Ultimately, the work will be measured on enhancing customer retention, increasing adoption and value, and enhancing the customer experience.
Key Accountabilities (Impact)
In detail you will develop a strategy and lead a team to:
Provide leadership in analyzing customer usage patterns and making actionable recommendations using statistical models, data mining, machine learning algorithms, business understanding and common sense
Develop and apply state-of-the-art big-data techniques in our cloud infrastructure Interact with internal and potentially external clients to understand their requirements for predictive analytics applications.
Lead and extend a team of outstanding data scientists.
Help develop and test predictive algorithms to be implemented as part of various internal Salesforce applications.
Understand the business goals and initiatives and combine business modeling skills with outstanding data analysis.
Cooperate with the IT organization to design and execute replicable data acquisition and utilization processes. Setting the strategy to ensure quality and scalability for acquiring, analyzing, cleaning and structuring data is an essential part of the daily responsibilities for this role.
Cooperate with IT and Business Intelligence teams to ensure integration and implementation of the algorithms that the team has developed in the production environment.
Lead the team in leveraging the appropriate technologies (e.g. off-the-shelf or open-source) as well as in-house engineering, and feel comfortable with big data solutions, applications and infrastructure (Hadoop, MapReduce, Mahout, Hive/Pig with UDF).
Bachelor required, Master preferred in related field - Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.
7+ years of building a team and strategy around data analytics
Very strong business acumen
C-level presence and experience
Experience turning ideas into actionable designs. Able to persuade stakeholders and champion effective techniques through product development
Comfortable working in a dynamic, research-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent projects
Very strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Experience with statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms as well as ML libraries
