As a part of our Workforce Development initiatives, Salesforce.org invites participants from non-profit and educational institutions to participate in professional development and skill building activities with Salesforce volunteers with the goal of enhancing career exposure and building skills and social capital through professional networks.
Salesforce.org is seeking a Senior Associate, Workforce Development to join our team and play a key role in ensuring we are delivering the highest quality workforce development volunteer experiences for employees and participants from local non-profit and educational institutions. This person will also play a key role in planning and executing the Future Executive Summit at Dreamforce and supporting the scaling of workforce development volunteerism globally through the creation of toolkits and resources for employees. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Workforce Development. This individual must possess passion and experience working with underrepresented young adults.
Strategic Events & Program Management:
Build internal and external partnerships to deliver programs and events; create program structure, recruit and train employee volunteers, track outcomes, and celebrate successes through communications, events, and other channels
Project manage and support event logistics and implementation of volunteer engagements with strategic partners, including large scale events with multiple stakeholders
Design and facilitate workforce development content for volunteer activities to ensure impactful and high quality experiences for our young adult participants and volunteers
Capture and use data and feedback to identify trends and iterate on volunteer events and programs
Oversee content and volunteer support for Future Executive Summit, a “conference within a conference” for young adults at Dreamforce; lead content development and identify facilitators, partner with local non-profits to source 400+ young adult attendees, develop and deliver volunteer trainings for attendees and Salesforce employees
Resource Building & Volunteer Enablement
Create robust resources, toolkits, and trainings to enable and empower employees to lead the planning and ownership of ‘self-service’ Workforce Development programs
Identify and support Workforce Development employee volunteer leaders in Salesforce HQ who have the desire and capacity to champion Workforce Development initiatives
Build partnerships with teams and business units that directly align to training(s) provided by or desired by nonprofit and education partners
Develop a program to recognize champions and elevate their stories across the company to inspire employees to engage in Workforce Development volunteerism
In partnership with the Employee Engagement team launch a Future Ready Leadership Council in HQ and recruit Future Ready Workforce Development Champions to join
Marketing & Awareness Building
Create awareness for Workforce Development and Future Ready branded initiatives through various marketing channels such as blog posts, social media, Chatter (Salesforce internal social media tool), etc. in partnership with Salesforce.org marketing team
Create and catalogue and organize success stories, collateral and marketing materials to share with internal and external stakeholders
Serve as an ambassador of Salesforce.org and Future Ready programs to the business and stakeholders
Strategic Communications & Project Management
Build slide decks and other collateral to promote Workforce Development efforts to internal and external stakeholders
Draft stories about events, grantees/their constituents, and/or intern programs for use in various communication channels (i.e. blogs, email campaigns, etc.)
Develop and distribute communications to non-profit partners and employees in line with the Global Philanthropy and Volunteer Engagement team's voice and vision
3 - 5 years of experience in roles related to volunteer program management, event planning, and/or project management
Experience working directly with young adults, including program/event facilitation
Excellent people skills; comfortable in front of groups and working with diverse stakeholders
Ability to multitask, quick learner, and a self starter/intrinsically motivated
Must be an exceptional project manager, paying careful attention to details and deadlines, seamlessly managing and prioritizing multiple projects at any given time
Persuasive communication skills, particularly strong writing skills
Strong PowerPoint/Google Slides skills
Demonstrated passion for workforce development
Intellectual curiosity; exceptionally organized and detail oriented
Flair for building relationships and working collaboratively across teams
Sense of humor, enthusiasm, diplomacy, and patience
