Role Description:

As a Senior Product Designer you’ll transform complex tasks into clear, compelling, and accessible designs for our Data & Audiences product team on the Marketing Cloud. You’ll collaborate with research to help define both qualitative and quantitative research programs to understand user engagement and validate concepts. You’ll be a champion for design thinking and service design methodologies, working hand-in-hand with other UX disciplines, product management, engineering, and product marketing.

Your Impact:

A day/week in your life will include:

  • Maintaining a user-centered design approach as you tackle complex design problems and influence product strategy

  • Participating in product research and analysis, always striving to know the customers for whom you are designing

  • Joining a small team of designers on day-to-day design work, reviewing designs, and providing constructive critique

  • Balancing tactical design work with strategic, blue sky thinking and helping other designers do the same

  • Facilitating cross-functional journey mapping workshops with internal and external stakeholders

  • Mapping out interaction user workflows that take into account cross-product integration

  • Creating annotated wireframes (low fidelity to high fidelity and everything in between)

  • Creating pixel-perfect visuals for product interfaces or demos when needed

  • Collaborating deeply with user researchers, product managers and the engineering team throughout the product lifecycle to ensure your designs are addressing user and business needs, feasible to implement, and are subsequently implemented accurately

  • Helping Marketing Cloud adopt and extend the Salesforce Lightning Experience

  • Helping to define Salesforce Lightning Design System patterns that can be used across the entire product ecosystem

  • Advocating for simple, modern design and adherence to design conventions (e.g., responsiveness, accessibility)

  • Contribute to and cultivate an inclusive and collaborative Salesforce UX Ohana

  • Mentor new members of design staff

Minimum Requirements:

  • A professional portfolio demonstrating substantial and impactful design experience (Note: candidates without a portfolio will not be considered)

  • A solid understanding of user experience, user research, interaction design, and design principles

  • Able to successfully manage all aspects of a project from start to finish

  • self-motivated, a good communicator, comfortable following direction, and able to balance great design with meeting short deadlines

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HCI, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/Interaction Design

  • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills that demonstrate you know how to 1) understand user needs, 2) translate those needs into modern and intuitive experiences, and 3) justify design choices and adjust decisions based on feedback

  • Know the rules of good interaction design and know when to break them

  • Expert-level knowledge of wireframing tools (e.g., Illustrator, Sketch, Axure, Balsamiq, etc.)

  • Experience with lightweight prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Axure, etc.)

  • Knowledge of the psychology behind information visualization

  • Experience designing for enterprise SaaS, accessibility, mobile device apps, and predictive analytics is a plus

  • Is experienced designing enterprise dashboards and reports for large data sets
