The Senior Corporate Counsel, Litigation will play a key role in actively handling the Company's litigation, dispute resolution, compelled disclosure, eDiscovery, and patent licensing issues. This position is a great opportunity to litigate cutting-edge cases in the growing cloud computing space. The position will report to Salesforce’s Senior Vice President, Global Litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively handle and manage Company litigation, including patent, commercial, class action, and employment cases

  • Work directly and collaborate with outside counsel on litigation and pre-litigation matters

  • Manage eDiscovery process, run document collections and legal holds, and work with counsel and IT to complete discovery

  • Be a resident expert on eDiscovery methods, rules, and requirements, as well as record management best practices

  • Manage the subpoena response function within the Legal Department

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate and law degrees with excellent academic performance

  • 8-10 years combined experience in law firm and/or in-house legal department with deep experience in litigation, including taking and defending depositions, arguing in court, and taking cases to trial

  • Familiarity with patent litigation, including infringement and invalidity issues as well as USPTO proceedings

  • Experience handling commercial and/or employment cases, including resolving issues prior to active litigation

  • Experience in all facets of eDiscovery, including legal holds, preservation, collections, and production

  • Desire to join rapidly growing company and tackle novel legal issues

  • The ability to excel in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment

  • "Soft skills": The candidate must be tactful, discreet, have strong communication skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, and display excellent judgment combined with practical business sense

Experience/Skill Desired:

  • Familiarity with implementation of records management programs and collaborating with IT to build best practices

  • Experience working with eDiscovery software, including Logikcull and Legal Hold Pro
