The compute infrastructure that enables this innovation and value is evolving to fully embrace lights-out operations, single-click deploy to tens of thousands of nodes, and services that self-heal and self-optimize.Join a team building Salesforce online services platform.Software defined networking plays a very important role addressing ip reachability/connectivity/mobility solutions for Kubernetes PODS/Docker CONTAINERS/Open stack based Virtual machines/Bare metal hosts. Our software stack development includes data encryption during transit, overlays, dual stack (IPv4 and IPv6) and may more critical needs for online services platform. SDN involved building time critical high performance and highly redundant services like SDN Controllers, SDN agents , SDN peering solutions etc.. SDN not only provides a great satisfaction in building state of the art system(s) but ability to define new standards of availability, new ideas which are patentable and many more dimensions to innovate and ship. Of course we always use/contribute back to open source technologies.We are looking to add experienced distributed systems engineers who are passionate, hungry for new challenges, can step up and own big chunks of that vision. As far as private cloud, SDN stack by salesforce powers the overlay network thru openstack.We are building one of the unique product which solves the age old problem of connecting services among sites/data centers with overlapped IP. This is called Sitebridge. We will be releasing white paper as well as open sourcing.Some attributes of successful candidates:
Great knowledge in online services( Distributed computing)
Great problem solving skills
Ability to understand and define things at big picture level
Ability to deep dive to precision details along with great decision making skill( mainly yo define when and where to stop)
You have experience balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt,
Familiarity with crash-only and recovery-oriented software design.
Excited by building reliable, self-healing services on unreliable hardware.
Experience designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems that run across thousands of compute nodes in multiple datacenters.
Agilista capable of driving and delivering thin slices of end-to-end functionality on a regular cadence with data-driven feedback loops.
10+ years of development experience
Experience in building high performance and leading teams
Experience with Golang, Java and/or C++ in a Linux/UNIX data center environment
Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a mission critical service
Experience with Agile development methodology and Test-Driven Development
Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence
