The Salesforce Platform is at the core of everything Salesforce delivers. As a Sr. Manager on the Platform Product Marketing team, you will be responsible for defining a strategic platform narrative through the lens of customer stories, deep product content, and thought leadership. You will partner closely with product management to jointly develop the strategic narrative and roadmap together. It will be up to you to translate technical content into marketing strategies and customer assets that can communicate your product’s value and differentiation. You will live the customer journey and help inform and retell the magic of how Salesforce helps companies embrace transformation. You will align customer storytelling to position against the competition. Sales teams will be one of your most important and strategic internal customers. You will find ways to delight sales and deliver compelling assets to help them over-achieve on their sales goals.
In this role you’ll be highly focused on the IT buyers, including the CIO, VP of App Dev, VP of digital transformation, and similar titles. The shift to the cloud continues to accelerate and your responsibilities will include aligning the programs and content that help Salesforce differentiate our value proposition for a comprehensive suite of app development tools that span from no-code to pro-code. You’ll need to quickly become familiar with our Lightning Platform for low-code application development and refine the the messaging to IT on how this new technology is redefining their partnership with the business.
You’ll work at the intersection of our product management, campaigns, and distribution (sales) teams building content that can scale through our account executives worldwide. You will also support sales enablement strategies and demand generation spanning events, campaigns, social media programs, references and case studies, and press and analyst relations. Successful candidates will have a passion for taking the complex and making it simple and motivating and enabling field selling organizations.
This role requires a strong technical acumen to partner closely with the Product Management organization but this role is not primarily focused on marketing product features. Instead you’ll act as a product advocate and technology evangelist for marketing activities, translating product capabilities into compelling messaging and positioning and developing customer facing materials and use cases that clearly articulate our product value.
Passion for cloud computing including Platform as a Service and Software as a Service and how cloud will revolutionize IT.
At least 3 years experience in cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS).
5+ years experience in product marketing at an enterprise software or platform company, with a deep understanding of IT organizations.
Extensive background in one or more technology and platform solutions such as application development.
Strong public speaking skills and ability to develop compelling customer-facing presentations.
Ability to engage with and earn the respect of both deeply technical IT leaders and business leaders.
Ability to sell ideas well through creative & innovative cohesive presentations.
Creative thinker that can generate innovative marketing ideas and lead a cross-functional team of stakeholders to drive execution.
Proven track record in performing well in a fast-paced environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively.
Bachelor's degree required, Computer Science or commensurate experience strongly preferred. MBA a plus, but not required.
