As a Sr. Manager on the Platform Product Marketing team, you will work with a team to define a strategic platform narrative through the lens of customer stories and deep product content. You will help tell a strong App Dev story and help carve out our unique space in the changing landscape of App Dev. And to do that, you understand application development and cloud platform technology. You understand the needs of three stakeholders we sell to - Business, IT and Developers. And you understand the challenges of creating narratives that resonate with each of these stakeholders.
Here’s some of what you will do -
Launch new products and features, promoting the Heroku and Salesforce ecosystem
Go beyond launches to raise awareness of and educate IT, Business and Developers on the value of Heroku as part of the broader Salesforce Platform
Create high quality content such as demos, webinars, videos, blogs and slides - yep, we live and breathe slides. Evangelize Heroku within the growing Salesforce community and potential IT buyers
Collaborate and motivate cross-functional teams (including, sales, product & marketing) to support your delivery of world-class product marketing communications. We are a team of problem solvers that value humility and team collaboration over the unicorn who runs alone.
Work with product management to distill key functionality and benefits into core product marketing messages, and create technical narratives along key product themes that tell the story of and differentiate Heroku
Track the competitive landscape, understand target markets, and identify market insights to inform product strategies and go-to-market activities
This role requires a combination of technical acumen coupled with the ability to communicate the technical elements in a simple, effective manner.
Collaborate with campaigns and distribution teams to support sales enablement, demand generation spanning events, campaigns, social media programs, references and case studies, and press and analyst relations.
Passion for cloud computing including Platform as a Service and Software as a Service and how public cloud will revolutionize IT.
At least 4 years experience in cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS).
5+ years experience in product marketing at an enterprise software or platform company, with a deep understanding of IT organizations.
Extensive background in one or more technology and platform solutions such as application development.
Strong public speaking skills and ability to develop compelling customer-facing presentations.
Ability to engage with and earn the respect of both deeply technical IT leaders and business leaders.
Ability to sell ideas well through creative & innovative cohesive presentations.
Creative thinker that can generate innovative marketing ideas and lead a cross-functional team of stakeholders to drive execution.
Proven track record in performing well in a fast-paced environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively.
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, Computer Science or Engineering background helpful and MBA a plus, but not required.
