Salesforce is looking to add to our expanding infrastructure Heroku security team.
Heroku is a cloud platform that lets companies build, deliver, monitor and scale apps - We're the fastest way to go from idea to URL, bypassing all those infrastructure headaches. Heroku operates the premier platform-as-a-service, open to anyone with an email address. Sadly, not everyone is as mindful of being a good internet citizen as we’d like. We’re looking for dedicated abuse engineers to lead the charge against the jerks.
If you’re the right person for this job, you know spamming, scalping, botnetting, phishing, and a plethora of other inappropriate ways that villians will take advantage. You don’t want to play whack-a-mole, you want to automate it away and break their business model. You’re comfortable with heuristic tuning, and know that better is more important than perfect.
Own breaking the cycle of abuse
Develop tools to automatically identify and remediate inappropriate use
Serve as the public face of anti-abuse
Work with diverse engineering teams to bake abuse-handling into the platform
Keep abreast of emerging trends in computer crime and fraud
Deep expertise in information security theory and practice, with specialization in at least one of:
Log analysis and forensics
Linux kernel & userland execution environment
Web application security
Able to work collaboratively across diverse engineering teams and products to meet organizational goals
Able to quickly understand and effectively analyze someone else’s code
Capable of thoughtful and deliberate action in a crisis situation
Desired Technical Skills/Experience:
Splunk and syslog
Amazon Web Services - EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, etc.
Linux - syslog, LXC
Languages - Ruby, Python, Java, Go, Shell
PostgreSQL, and NoSQL Databases such as Redis and Cassandra
