The GovCloud Engineering and Operations team is responsible for 24x7x365 service monitoring and rapid incident response across the various GovCloud environments in Salesforce. Our Engineering and Operations teams work hand in hand with the business to ensure the highest reliability, security and compliance around all of our applications.You will ensure the success of our Government Cloud program in both running today’s business and helping to build capabilities to drive future business. You will run the GovCloud service offering, providing 24x7 coverage from secure operations centers. You will provide “smart hands” capability for the rest of Salesforce engineering teams, enabling them to remediate issues and deliver solutions remotely.


  • Customer impacting service reliability incident management

  • Follow RunBooks created by upstream teams to manage the service

  • Smart hands to pull files, queries, investigations, Audit Evidence Request Fulfillment

  • Host Decomms & Rebuilds as required

  • Certificate Management/Provisioning

  • Staging and deploying releases (major, patch, e-release)

  • Troubleshooting of release blockers (hardware, configuration, code)

  • Define, develop and deploy system monitoring as well as corrective actions.

  • Improve the system reliability via predictive analysis.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems OR Computer Science OR equivalent experience and knowledge

  • 3+ years experience operating large, highly complex, security and cloud programs/projects or 2+ years professional development experience and capable of developing and implementing DevOps best practices.

  • Monitoring servers, devices such as firewalls/routers/switches, proxy servers and operating system logs.

  • Systems administration and/or Database administration

  • Demonstrated ability to support Release Operations: production environments, mission-critical tools administration in a Help Desk, and zero downtime framework.

  • A strong command of one or more of the following : code branching architecture branching, merging, rollback plans, automating DBA tasks, SQL scripting

  • Excellent verbal communication and technical documentation skills

  • This position is based in a 24x7 operations center. As a result, shift work (including on weekends, as needed) is required.

  • The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship. The candidate must have an active U.S. Government TS/SCI with full scope polygraph, with a background investigation from within the last 5 years. Candidate must maintain this level of clearance throughout their employment.The successful candidate will be required to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
