Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, the Director, Strategic Content will manage the keynote content development for Salesforce.org global education industry events. The candidate will be responsible for creating a comprehensive understanding of our education customers and create a plan to showcase success stories at events including Dreamforce, Higher Ed Summit, and third-party industry events.

Successful candidates for this role will need to have persuasive communication and compelling storytelling skills, the ability to collaborate and influence across a broad set of stakeholders, a passion for working with customers and thought leaders to help drive awareness for Salesforce technology, and the knowledge required to work with event technology and solution engineering teams. This role will partner with Product Marketing, Sales, Event Marketing, our customers, and our alliances community to deliver world-class content at our strategic education industry and executive events.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategy and content development process to bring keynote content to life

  • Develop goals, themes, and messaging, identify customers to showcase, write scripts, work with cross-functional teams (Solution Engineers, Marketing, Product Marketing, Industry Solutions, etc). on major keynote announcements, present plans to executives

  • Support writing needs for other strategic content (blogs, executive presentations, thought leadership marketing pieces, etc.)

  • Help source industry thought leaders presenters for key education events (Higher Ed Summit, Horizons, Dreamforce)

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Create plan and manage process to develop strategic content programs that assist in meeting targets for sales segments, product/solution lines, and organization goals

  • Ensure that all content is focused, delivers value to the attendee and can live beyond the in person event in a variety of formats

  • Assist campaign managers with content for outbound email and web promotions for driving event registration and engagement

  • Motivate and direct the broader team towards the event objectives as well as collaborate with the Events team to support logistical and operational excellence

  • Match content strategy with event goals, create and track measurements and metrics including event surveys

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing, product management, customer success at a high tech company, or similar. MBA is a plus, but not required.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Strong understanding of the cloud enterprise application space such as CRM software, SIS, or ERP software

  • Strong communication, presentation, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong PowerPoint, Google Slides, and/or Apple Keynote skills

  • Proven ability to work well cross-functionally and with customers

  • Proven track record in performing well in a fast-paced environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to creatively negotiate demands

  • Flexibility, comfortable dealing with ambiguity, shifting priorities and the occasional abrupt change

  • Results-oriented, customer driven, organized with attention to detail

  • Ability to assess and prioritize workload in a strict deadline oriented environment

  • Thrive on teamwork and overcoming obstacles

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel when required
