Senior Director, Solution Engineering – Federal, Public Sector

The Senior Director – Public Sector, Federal will partner with the Sales and Pre-Sales teams in the Public Sector region to optimize pipeline & bookings, enable field sales, innovate selling approaches, help drive revenue and lead + grow a team of Senior Solution Engineers.
The selected candidate will also develop and allocate resources, perform employee reviews and evaluations, participate in strategic deals and back up team members as needed to grow the Federal business. The SE Director will be a player-coach, actively working with their team members to solve difficult problems, and coordinating product team and partner resources when required. He/she will also drive strategic initiatives and programs as needed and actively support the team’s career development and advancement.
In addition, the SE Director must be able to motivate, develop and retain the highest caliber of teammates – relying on his/her background and leadership skills to further evangelizing and develop innovative solution demonstrations and Proofs of Concepts (POCs) for the Federal marketplace. The SE Director will report to the VP of Federal and Enterprise Solution Engineering and be a trusted partner to two (2) RVP’s of Federal Sales.
7+ years of front line SE leadership experience requested + experience in a fast-paced environment
Candidate will have extensive experience leading and participating in complex Solution Engineering organizations
Candidate will possess excellent analytic capabilities, be organized and able to work many tasks at the same time – vocally advocating for functional and technical excellence
Must have excellent fundamental Sales Skills (Value and Solution Selling) and advanced leadership skills
Proficient with CRM, Application Solution Selling and Infrastructure technologies and be able to present to a business or technical audience
Participate in solution architectural discussions and planning – internally and externally
Be a force multiplier and have a passion for team and team members’ success by providing technical guidance, career development and mentoring
Maintain high morale and motivate the SE team to go above and beyond – serving as the inspiration to “never give up”
Able to communicate equally with internal resources such as Executive Leadership, Product Development, Product Marketing and Sales Management to gain commitment and support
Knowledge of advanced technologies and business processes including: Modern Web & Mobile Applications, Cloud Technologies and development, Customer Service trends and detailed business processes
Multi-Generational Leadership Skills desired
A 4 year college degree is preferred
