Salesforce is looking for a talented engineer to join the Trailhead Engineering team. Trailhead is the fun way to learn Salesforce and the next-generation learning platform to empower our customers, partners, and employees. Explore our app,, maybe even snag a few badges (we'd recommend the Salesforce Platform Basics module).You will join a team that is building the Trailhead publishing platform written in Ruby on Rails and deployed on Heroku. Day-to-day, you will develop new features with the engineering team and conduct code reviews, ensuring code is high quality, maintainable, well-factored, and functionality is well-supported with tests. You should have a passion for building elegant solutions while minimizing technical debt.   • Build features by writing maintainable code and know when to apply unit, functional, and integration tests

  • Work with your peers to design and document new and existing systems

  • Provide support to our editorial and marketing teams to debug and solve production issues

  • Collaborate with senior engineers, quality engineers, product management, and user experience experts to ensure that your features are of high quality and that they meet our customer's needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional experience with object oriented programming (Ruby, Python, Java, etc)

  • You know what good, well-factored, code looks like. You understand the trade-offs of various approaches to solving a problem and can verbalize and discuss those decisions

  • You are a strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts in simple language.

  • Experience with relational datastores (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and an understanding of relational database design theory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience building scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails or Express web frameworks.

  • Experience deploying and managing applications on Heroku.

  • Experience with Jenkins.

  • An obsession for detail.
