Job Details Apprenticeship Senior Associate

Fixed term Contract: September 2018 - September 2019

40 hours/week

Location: London, UK is looking for an Apprenticeship Senior Associate to join our team and play a key role in supporting our apprenticeship program, based in our London office. This person will play a pivotal role in the onsite management of the London apprenticeship program, ensuring apprentices, line managers, and training providers are connected and operating smoothly. He/she will ensure the program is a success by continually supporting the apprentices, ensuring all training is facilitated, line managers are executing the program with fidelity, and creating events that will further enhance the development of the apprentices. Additionally, this role will also entail researching local apprenticeship programs in other Salesforce EMEA office locations. The Senior Associate will explore legal regulations, training providers, funding requirements, etc. for apprenticeships in key European cities/countries. He/she will also gather interest from EMEA Salesforce offices/employees to better understand demand.

Open communication, organizational skills and the ability to engage with various departments and stakeholders will play a critical role. He/she will have experience in working with students/young adults, and have a passion for supporting underserved communities. The scope of this position will evolve continuously. Comfort with ambiguity, flexibility and a can-do attitude is required.

Responsibilities for the role include:

London Apprenticeship Program:

  • Serve as point of contact for all apprenticeship related questions and main liaison between training provider and the business; build trusted relationships with apprentices, providing guidance, support and encouragement to ensure their success

  • Work closely with Employee Success (HR), line managers and training provider throughout the recruitment/matching process ensuring the correct talent is sourced and matched based on job descriptions

  • Support apprentice onboarding; coordinate logistics, content, and volunteers for onboarding bootcamps; manage processes to ensure apprentices are prepared with technology, security permissions, salary/stipends, etc.

  • Create and lead training sessions for managers about managing an apprentice

  • Facilitate and track apprentice mentor program; support mentors to enhance engagement

  • Plan professional development events for apprentices, leveraging employee volunteers to serve as guest speakers, workshop leaders, and facilitators of hands-on activities to further apprentices’ understanding of Salesforce’s business and culture

  • Monitor the program, ensuring any red flags are quickly actioned upon and all parties are in alignment

  • Partner with Employee Success (HR), Finance, and Legal to complete necessary legal paperwork and documents in relation to the UK apprenticeship tax levy

  • Create, distribute, and analyze apprentice, manager, and mentor satisfaction surveys

  • Craft stories about apprentices/managers to celebrate successes and inspire others

EMEA Apprenticeship Program Expansion Research:

  • Research apprenticeship landscape in main EMEA offices (France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands), including regulation requirements, funding frameworks, program types/lengths, etc.

  • Explore and inspire demand for apprentices in EMEA offices

  • Conduct landscape analysis of other employers and their apprenticeship programs in key countries/cities

  • Engage with the team to support other projects and priorities as needed

The preferred candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in roles related to recruitment, HR, workforce development, and/or apprenticeship programs

  • Experience with program management and/or event planning

  • Prior experience in working with apprentices and/or students ages 18-24

  • Experience with mentoring/coaching

  • Persuasive communication skills; able to present recommendations to diverse stakeholders

  • Flair for building relationships and working collaboratively across teams

  • Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written

  • Strong PowerPoint/Google Slides skills

  • Intellectual curiosity; exceptionally organized and detail oriente

  • Sense of humor, enthusiasm, diplomacy, patience, and positivity

  • Flexible working style
