About the Biz Tech Engineering services team:
The Biz Tech Engineering services is a horizontal function catering the needs of 100 application scrum teams (in various business domains including Sales and Sales Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Employee Success) within Salesforce IT in the areas of - Continuous Delivery, Performance engineering, Agile practices coaching & implementation.

The Salesforce Biz Tech Engineering Services team is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to lead multiple scrum teams in the area of CI/CD. This role will provide leadership to the scrum team and lead a team of software engineers.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead team of smart and dynamic engineers and business analysts through project initiation, execution, and transition. You will champion hiring new talent and promote positive team spirit with continuous improvement within the team and develop team members to achieve their potential.
As a people and technology manager, you are also responsible for effective collaboration across product management & technology teams contributing to project success, guide the team and coordinate with others in the agile development process.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of increasing responsibility, success building and leading technical teams. The position requires strategic thinking and planning to provide leadership and expertise throughout the development lifecycle.
14+ years software development experience with a distinguished track record on technically demanding projects, with at least 6-8 years of management experience
3-4 years of experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Experience managing people and projects in a matrix'd environment".
Establish credibility with smart engineers quickly
Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
Strong verbal and written communication skills, impeccable organizational and time management skills
Agile, proactive, comfortable working with ambiguous specifications and can prioritize on the fly
Experience in short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and have worked on a product that was actually released for public consumption
Experience managing contractors
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Experience of working on Java
Ability to learn quickly in a highly dynamic environment
Ability to take ownership of project delivery and multi-task on multiple projects/feature development
Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent is desired, Masters would be preferred.
