The Marketing Cloud Success Architect is a strategic position meant to engage our most advanced Marketing Cloud customers to drive customer success. The successful candidate will have significant Customer Consulting and Enterprise Architecture experience with strong interpersonal skills and broad business, technical, and marketing knowledge. The candidate should also be comfortable navigating highly volatile situations within our largest customer while interfacing with both executive leaders and day-to-day operational experts. The individual is ultimately serving as a trusted advisor focused on customer success with Marketing Cloud.

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading multiple customer engagements in parallel while quickly assessing new requests and developing optimal engagement plans that help maximize customer business value, assist with product expansion and services growth, and minimize attrition risk. The individual will work collaboratively with key stakeholders at Salesforce such as Success Managers, Sales Teams, Technical Support and Product Management to make our customers wildly successful. The successful candidate will also create and nurture C-Level relationships with engaged customers and provide thought leadership to internal and external Salesforce communities. A Salesforce Marketing Cloud Success Architect is an experienced technical subject matter expert within specific domains of Salesforce Marketing Cloud applications and the Integration into other Salesforce Clouds as well as 3rd party systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading critical engagements with customers and senior executives on technical and business challenges related to their Marketing Cloud initiative(s)

  • Sharing Marketing Cloud Product Technical and Enterprise Architecture expertise and thought leadership with customers that drive desired business outcomes

  • Contributing to customer strategic visions that take full advantage of the Salesforce Platform and Ecosystem to drive maximum business value

  • Building and sustaining trusted relationships with business partners (internal and external), contributing to broader goals and growth beyond the scope of a single customer engagement

  • Developing high-level business cases and value propositions that leverage the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform for common Marketing needs and demonstrate a clear understanding of platform ROI models and campaign success metrics.

  • Applying architectural principles of cloud based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure as part of Enterprise Architecture recommendations that incorporate the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform.

  • Travel approximately 25% of the time to visit customers

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of Sales & Marketing consulting, digital marketing, creative agency, or marketing strategy with Enterprise Software Architecture thought leadership responsibilities

  • 5+ years of enterprise consulting experience and/or implementation experience at a professional consulting organization (e.g. Big 4 Consulting) with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or related marketing automation products and other cloud-based enterprise software solutions

  • Industry experience in Financial Services and/or Health & Life Sciences

  • Familiar with direct marketing, direct response concepts, customer analytics, research methodology, and statistics with businesses in B2C

  • Experience leading a marketing team and comfortable combining business case evaluation, ROI Analysis / Business Value, data analysis, and creative marketing to build best in class programs

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to lead high powered workshops and effectively tailor messaging based on the audience and subject matter

  • Experience across marketing channels including email marketing, mobile messaging, social listening and engagement, ad campaigns, and cross channel journeys

  • Familiarity with AMPscript, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and responsive web design

  • Familiarity with Salesforce SOAP APIs, REST APIs and integration techniques.

  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including requirements, design, implementation, testing and maintenance

  • BS/BA college degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering degree) or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency combined with extensive Marketing experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • MS or MBA in related fields (Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing)

  • 5+ years of applicable experience as client partner, consultant or account director role at digital agency, marketing services organization or consultancy.

  • Salesforce Certifications (Salesforce Admin, Platform App Builder, MC Social, MC Email, and MC Consultant).

  • Strong knowledge of relational database technology, specifically as it relates to Customer data (i.e.: web analytics, CRM, and Profile data), interactive Marketing Channels (i.e.: SEO, SEM, PPC, Ad Management), as well as the Salesforce Marketing Cloud channels (email, mobile, social, sites).

  • Practical experience with digital marketing software and channels, including email marketing, mobile, web analytics, campaign management, and social media.

  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming languages, SQL, Databases technologies and popular APIs
