About the Position:
The Deliverability Consultant works within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Services team to provide consultative services to our customer in attaining high email deliverability rates, detecting and analyzing delivery issues while educating on email best practices. This role serves as a trusted advisor to our customers in managing optimal email deliverability and providing remediation tactics and strategy as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop IP warming plans for new migrations onto Salesforce Marketing Cloud while monitoring email delivery rates, reputation, and folder placement during onboarding
Provide deliverability consultative services to customers, by educating them on email best practices, focused on the goal of maximizing delivery to the inbox and ROI
Generate and review reporting related to deliverability-focused metrics such as delivery rates, bounce rates, open rates, bounce details, complaints, unsubscribes, etc.
Complete project based work driven by our portfolio of deliverability services offerings
Provide clients with authentication and IP assignment guidance with input and approval from Deliverability Leadership
Work with email receivers, email blacklist operators, and antispam providers to resolve deliverability issues on behalf of our customers
Provide customers with in-depth deliverability analysis leading to continual deliverability improvement
Work cross-functionally to share expertise through inter-department collaboration, industry group participation, blogging, and other thought leadership
Skills and Requirements:
Individual with prior experience in deliverability consulting or deliverability operations with an email analytics vendor, email service provider, internet service provider, or anti-spam vendor.
Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are required to enable working with internal and external clients at the executive-level and below
Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated understanding of email, SMTP, MTAs, IP strategies, authentication technologies like DKIM or SPF, reputation strategies, data hygiene, privacy, opt policies, anti-spam policies
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Strong Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, project management skills
Familiararity with email analytic vendors including Return Path or 250ok
Strong problem-solving skills - diagnosis, root-cause assessment, option evaluation and resolution
Ability to communicate clearly and strategically with clients, team members, and the marketplace
Ability to manage time and resources and prioritize projects in a rapidly changing environment
Undergraduate degree is required; graduate degree in either a technical discipline or business a plus
Email deliverability experience required
