Legal Counsel

The MuleSoft EMEA legal team is looking for a high-performing, result-oriented Counsel with a passion for driving sales performance and influencing customer relationships. The Counsel will play a key role in supporting MuleSoft’s EMEA Sales and Professional Services organizations in negotiating transactions and commercial agreements with a main focus in the Benelux region, with a possibility to expand his/her area of intervention outside Benelux. MuleSoft is part of the Salesforce.com group of companies, this position will report to a Senior Corporate Counsel and will be based in the Salesforce Amsterdam office.

  • Review, negotiate and revise agreements related to MuleSoft’s core business, such as master subscription agreements, nondisclosure agreements, professional services agreements, data privacy addenda, pricing agreements, and order forms in support of MuleSoft’s subscription sales and professional services teams.

  • Work with sales and professional services, revenue recognition, sales operations and global finance teams to support processes for contracting and order processing.

  • Closely partner with the other internal compliance, privacy and security departments to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes.

  • Provide support to the Sales team in answering RFP and associated legal questionnaires.

  • Conduct various legal projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in cross-regional team projects.

  • Maintain library of current template forms, negotiated provisions and other relevant information

  • Help in developing and updating training materials; deliver legal training to the sales and professional services teams.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified lawyer in EU (Understanding of the Dutch legal system a strong plus);

  • 3-5 year past qualification experience with exposure to licensing, either as an in-house counsel, ideally in a large tech-company, or in a reputable law firm.

  • Empathy, humility, overall a good human being;

  • Can do attitude, pro-active, responsive and service-oriented attitude;

  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in the technology;

  • Calm under pressure and practical;

  • Excellent command of English and Dutch, both written and oral. German or French skills will be a plus;

  • Excellent drafting and communication skills; detail oriented;

  • Proficient in understanding and articulating legal terms in contracts;

  • Strong appetite for working in an international environment;

  • Ability to work with limited direction;

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines, in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving and demanding industry and work environment;

  • a sense of humour is a big plus.
