The Employee Relations Manager, North Europe is an individual contributor role working within the Employee Relations (ER) COE. This role acts as a dedicated support to the North Europe sub-region of EMEA (NL, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden). Additionally provides over-spill support to the DACH countries (Germany and Switzerland). The role reports to the Employee Relations Senior Manager based in London.

This individual will have the ability to understand and support broad lines of business while handling complex investigations into policy violations and behaviors not in alignment with Salesforce values. Provides Performance Management expertise, case management, and consultation to people managers. Develops and leverages common consistent practices and processes to ensure fair and consistent treatment/approach across regional clients.

This role will engage with key partners and leaders within ES and the business to provide guidance and influence decision makers about making decisions in keeping with Ohana culture.

  • Manages all ER cases in-region (investigations, performance management, disciplinary activity, separations, etc.)

  • Partners with local ESBPs on ER cases including training solutions and other corrective actions

  • Partner with senior managers and HR teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices

  • Takes ownership and plays a supporting role in significant ER projects

  • Drafts and maintains relevant employment documentation including contracts of employment, policies, settlement agreements, and other relevant documentation

  • Leads on ER-related activity with regards to M&A and restructures.

  • Delivers and facilitates ER training and round tables

  • Ensures key stakeholders are properly informed and consulted with as appropriate on individual and collective ER matters

  • Aligns global ER strategy with local legal context

  • Is proactive in finding solutions to adapt the business requirements to local regulations;

  • Collaborates with the ER team on EMEA and global ER projects

  • Generates, analyses and reports on metrics to drive ER best practice

Desired skills and experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of employee relations

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years experience as an HR Generalist with material ER exposure or as an ER specialist

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and an ability to influence others

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with leaders and ES colleagues

  • English and Dutch full professional proficiency. German desired.

  • An employment law, industrial relations or other related degrees
